Dr Lauren Jamieson – MBChB, MRCGP

My mission is simple:

I want to make sure you get the best treatment to enhance your natural beauty and take control of how you feel at every stage in life.

My journey started in 2005 when I graduated from the University of Glasgow with my medical degree. I’ve had wide experience over the years, working in specialties like Cardio-thoracic surgery and Anaesthetics.

In 2011, I qualified as a General Practitioner and became a member of the Royal College of General Practitioners.

It was during my GP training that I became interested in Aesthetic Medicine. I undertook specialised training and found myself fascinated by how people age, the importance of skin health, and the art of ageing well.

The Story So Far…

How Dr Lauren Medical Aesthetics came to life
2005 - Becoming Dr Lauren
Six intense years at the University of Glasgow Medical School set the foundation for everything I do. I went on to work across Critical Care, Cardiothoracic Surgery, Emergency Medicine and General Practice. I thought Anaesthetics would be my path, but GP training gave me the space to explore something new - Aesthetic Medicine.
2010 - Foundation Toxin & Dermal Filler Training
Alongside medical school I worked in skincare, which gave me a lifelong love of helping people feel good in their own skin. Completing my first toxin and dermal filler course combined that passion with clinical skill. It was technically demanding, incredibly satisfying – and made it very clear I wanted to go much further.
2017 - Wigmore Medical
Joining Wigmore Medical as part of their training faculty was a turning point. Training other clinicians deepened my commitment to safe, ethical aesthetic medicine and pushed my own standards higher. It opened doors to collaboration, education and innovation that continue to shape my practice - and the future of the specialty - to this day.
2022 - Dr Lauren Medical Aesthetics
After years of working for others, it was time to build something of my own. With a lot of hard work, plenty of late nights and huge support from the people around me, Dr Lauren Medical Aesthetics was born: a doctor-led, patient-centred clinic focused on ethical, future-facing aesthetic care.
2023 - HydroPeptide Skincare
I’ve always been intentional about skincare – for myself, my patients and my clinic. Discovering HydroPeptide in late 2022 felt like finding the missing piece. Their peptide-powered, clinically driven formulas aligned perfectly with my “it all starts with skin” philosophy. In July 2025, that partnership evolved further when I became Medical Director for the brand.
2024 - Our Home on Haddow Street, Hamilton
Hamilton has been woven through my medical career from the beginning, so opening a permanent clinic here felt completely natural. Our beautifully renovated space on Haddow Street combines original features with a calm, clinical environment, tucked discreetly in the heart of the town and easily reached from across Scotland and the north of England.

After qualifying as a registered nurse in 2015, I started my aesthetics journey in 2016 whilst working within a cosmetic clinic as a nurse coordinator. My nursing background has been varied from cosmetic surgery to renal transplant care within the private sector and NHS.

All of my nursing care has enabled me to become an aesthetics nurse practitioner who focuses on my patients being at the centre of my treatment plans. I want my patients to feel heard and empowered. I achieve this by using all of my skills and knowledge from past experience and really listening to my patients.

Whilst I am trained in advanced dermal fillers and botox, skin boosters and other treatments, I am continually exploring ongoing training opportunities that I am always excited to share with my patients!

I feel incredibly fortunate to be working with Dr Lauren and having her ongoing mentorship and constant support – it’s not everyday you find yourself being part of an awesome team.

Growth and development is an important part of my life and I am excited to be part of that within the DRL team. Whether you are exploring aesthetic treatments for the first time or continuing on your journey, I look forward to meeting you in clinic and supporting you on your journey!

I embarked on my career in the beauty and aesthetics industry straight out of school and it has been an enriching journey spanning nearly 3 decades.

My passion for skincare and beauty led me to earning an HND in Beauty Therapy from Central College of Commerce in 1995. Starting as a therapist working in various salons, before training as a make-up artist, successfully running my own business working closely with brides in the lead up to their big day.

My focus extended beyond crafting exquisite bridal looks - my goal was not just enhancing their beauty for their wedding day, but also nurturing a radiant glow beneath the makeup - leaving them with images to cherish for years to come. I have a keen interest in the latest industry treatments in the ever evolving sector of beauty and aesthetics, with my focus on delivering an exceptional patient experience.
