On Sunday 12th November 2023, on the banks of the River Clyde in Glasgow, the inaugural ‘A Day to Make a Difference’ https://d2mad.co.uk/ charity event was a glamorous gathering combining a worthwhile cause with community spirit and fun.
The event was held in aid of Pancreatic Cancer UK and the Beatson Cancer Charity – both causes close to the heart of the organiser, Kim Robertson.

My commitment to making a positive impact was driven by a deep understanding of the profound but often overlooked impact of cancer on patients’ appearance and how that affects them psychologically. Aesthetic treatments can truly be life changing for these people during this challenging period of their lives.
Our support goes beyond financial contribution – it’s rooted in my belief that for individuals fighting cancer or those who have triumphed over it, how they see and feel about themselves can be sadly diminished. In recovery, the way they look can be a significant factor contributing to their well-being.
Aesthetic treatments can be a powerful tool in helping cancer patients regain their confidence and feel good about themselves after the hardest of illnesses.
The event, held at The Crowne Plaza Hotel, was an extraordinary day – with a fashion show, raffle, auction, and a tasty 3 course meal!
The fashion show really added an element of elegance to the event, showcasing local designers and models who generously lent their talents and time to support the cause. The raffle and auction raised crucial funds – directly impacting the lives of those affected by cancer.
In a fitting end to an excellent event there was, of course, a small afterparty with my team and colleagues in the hotel bar, celebrating the energy and success of the day:
“A Day to Make a Difference” raised over £10,000! Highlighting the impact that community support and shared purpose can have on people battling cancer.
